What is Maxibasketball At Home?

MAXIBASKETBALL AT HOME is a brand new, live game played at home by taking part in a number of different exercises or basketball skills called “challenges”.

The games are played live and remotely through a virtual online platform and broadcast live to audiences around the world.

es are evaluated by Technical Evaluation Teams who award the score. The points awarded to the teams are the sum of individual participants’ efforts.

The Technical Evaluation Team decides the score based on different aspects and established rules.

The evaluating technicians are made up of 3 international members.

The games will be officiated by FIMBA Referees.

Venue of the meeting
At home according to the rules of each challenge.
Team members should not be in the same physical space.
It can be somewhere other than our home, or outdoor as well.

Registration:

The registration form must be completed and sent together with a video of each member performing any of the challenges in their category in 10 seconds, by mail to athome@fimba.net

Registrations must be sent with a copy to the Representative of your country.

The National FIMBA Representatives for each country will be responsible for verifying and endorsing the registration forms provided by each team/ participant..

Team names: Team names can refer to your region, city, club, sponsor or any ‘fun’ name you choose. If not used, they will be named only with the country.
The registered player may play in their category according to the calendar year or in a lower category.


Registration fees

The teams or players registered at the FIMBA tournaments: Pan American, Paraná, European, Malaga and Central Caribbean, Guadalupe, all have free registration. Also the players or teams invited by and authorized by the International FIMBA Representatives enjoy free registration.

Teams not participating in the FIMBA regional tournaments:

10 USD (ten) individual participation
30 USD (thirty) per team (3 players).

General considerations

  • Online participation will be broadcast on the ZOOM platform and can be viewed on FACEBOOK LIVE and at tv.fimba.net.
  • In the event that the players have connectivity problems, reasonable time will be given to allow them to join.
  • Teams must participate in basketball sportswear. Participants should try and wear a playing vest representative of their country. Teams must try to have the same jersey

Awards

  • Will be awarded per participant:

1st. position: T-Shirt + Plaque

2nd. position: T-Shirt

The method of prize delivery will be agreed with the FIMBA Representatives of each country.

Tournament Cup

The country with the highest number of points will be awarded with an official FIMBA BASKETBALL BALL (Spalding)

The points will be awarded as follows:

Additional recreational activity

During the tournament there will be an Opening Celebration with a Parade of Flags, Virtual Parties, TikTok contests, Farewell Party and live performances.

CHALLENGES

INSTRUCTIONS

Challenge 1 – Mixed Step

Perform: 

As many passages as possible for 24 “.

2 changes of hand in front,

2 changes between the legs, and 

2 around the back. 

Rules:

  • keep your eyes straight ahead
  • the legs must be semi-bent
  • the body trunk shall be upright
  • dribbling firm and strong
  • the ball cannot touch the body

Challenge 2 – Back & Side

Perform: 

As many passages behind your back as possible for 24 “.

1 dribble in front,

Change from behind.

Start with the other hand

1 dribble in front with the other hand,

Change from behind.

Rules:

  • keep your eyes straight ahead
  • the legs must be semi-bent
  • the body trunk shall be upright
  • dribbling firm and strong
  • the ball cannot touch the body

Challenge 3 – Floating Ball

Perform:

As many passes of the ball through the legs from front to back and back to front for 24’’

Rules:

  • keep your eyes straight ahead
  • the legs must be semi-bent
  • the body trunk shall be upright
  • the ball cannot touch the body

Challenge 4 – Simple Cross Step

Perform:

Make the maximum amount of passage of the ball between the legs during 24 “

Rules:

  • keep your eyes straight ahead
  • the legs must be semi-bent
  • the body trunk shall be upright
  • perform a small jump when the legs change position
  • dribbling firm and strong
  • the ball cannot touch the body

Challenge 5 – Side Chair

Perform:

10 passes of the ball above the legs with the right hand, 

switch and do 10 passages with the left hand.

 

Time will be controlled.

Rules:

  • sitting in a chair
  • keep your eyes straight ahead
  • the body trunk shall be upright
  • dribbling firm and strong
  • the ball cannot touch the body
  • legs open to shoulder width

Challenge 6 – M Chair

Perform:

Passage the ball over the top of both legs dribbling at the opposite side,

then make a dribble between the two legs, and

finally dribble it on the same side.

 

5 full turns with right hand

5 full turns with left hand.

Rules:

  • sitting in a chair
  • keep your eyes straight ahead
  • the body trunk shall be upright
  • dribbling firm and strong
  • the ball cannot touch the body

In all the challenges in the case the ball escapes or the dribbling stops the challenge is not ended. The evaluators will consider as a penalty.

The challenges start with the sign of the participant saying 3, 2, 1.

The challenges end with the referee’s whistle or expression.

The ball to be used must be size 7 for male and 6 for the female.

Volunteers

  • Translators from English and Spanish into your local language.
  • Coaches or Physical Educators for Evaluation of Challenges.
  • Bartenders or fans to prepare the official drink on the day of the Farewell Party.
  • Advances in Zoom, YouTube and Facebook Life for live contributions
  • Holders of the national flag for the parade.
  • Couples or groups for dancing at the Tournament Parties.
  • General participants to greet and support as the games go live
  • General for all and any activity

REWARD

Each volunteer will receive an Official Diploma certifying their participation as a member of the International Organizing Committee of the First Online Tournament in the History of Sport.
They will also integrate the list of preference for volunteers at future face-to-face tournaments.
